Inspiration

The inspiration came from Japanese history and culture. I drew insipiration from the wood cut prints, textile prints and japanese pottery. In the history context of Japan the perussian blue ink is highly important. Japan is known for this its ink which is treasured. The discovery of this color blue, held more value than gold. Hokusai was bold to be one of the first printmakers that embrace this color—his decision changed the world of art. Under the Wave of Kanagawa (Kanagawa oki nami ura) also known as The Great Wave, on the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanj rokkei), influenced many other famous artist we know today like Monet, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Vincent Van Gogh.

Research

To have a better understanding about what consumers experience in restaurants, I did a survey of 30 people in the range of my target audience. It helped me see what people look for and enjoy the most when going out to eat.
